'Morton Black' History:
AboutMorton Black is a studio project by Joey Ferwerda focused on making all kinds of Metal. As long as it is melodic and has a good sound, it's Morton Black. Mainly focusing on composing and studio releases, Morton Black also plays live shows with a session band (See Live for more information). The first release ever called The Black Sessions, a Demo DVD with audio and video, will be released in the fall of 2008. In 2005, Morton Black was established, and the first musical concepts where composed. With a lot of help from the crew from "Centrum voor Creatief Leren," a school for the highly gifted who have problems in the regular schools, the first release ever was recorded in the chapel of the school. Albert Kaput (also bald), Jim Van De Kerkhof (also drummer), Fried Manders (also Composer, Musician), Wilma De Gruijl (everyone's second mom) and the rest of CCL helped Joey with the first steps as a musician and also funded the recording of the first release, and studio facilities for composing. Under the management of Pim Hofman (Me-Metalhour), Morton Black is now busy with making the first release and doing a small promotion tour with the same musicians as on the The Black Sessions Demo DVD, and occasionally some session musicians. Morton Black is also in search of a record company so the world can enjoy more of their music. source: Morton Black Website |
