BiographieNé en 1968, producteur de disques, guitariste autodidacte et compositeur, Jean-Pierre Danel débute la guitare en professionnel en 1982, à l’âge de 14 ans. Après de multiples tournées et enregistrements studio avec les plus grands musiciens français (notamment les équipes de Michel Berger, Francis Cabrel, Laurent Voulzy, Johnny Hallyday, Céline Dion, Charles Aznavour, etc.), il sort en Europe et aux USA de nombreux albums de guitare instrumentale vendus à plusieurs centaines de milliers d'exemplaires, et reçoit 7 disques d'or et d'argent. Son disque « Stratospheric » a reçu l'Award du meilleur album de l'année 2000 de l'Instrumental Rock Guitar Hall Of Fame aux USA, et Jean-Pierre celui de compositeur de l'année pour son titre « Ballad for a Friend ». Il y est décrit comme un guitariste "fin et brillant", et les critiques de l'album sont plus qu'excellentes en France, Belgique, Pays Bas, Allemagne, Espagne, Japon, Brésil et aux USA ainsi qu'au Royaume-Uni ("Un album qui va vous souffler !" DWMusic (USA), "Chapeau ! Ce type sait vraiment ce que c'est que jouer de la guitare !! Superbe !" Pipeline Magazine (GB), "Quel guitariste !" 20th Century Guitar (USA), etc). En 2001, on le retrouve dans l'album caritatif au profit de l'Unicef sorti chez Sony Music "Masters de la Guitare - Les plus Grands Guitaristes du Monde", parmi notamment Eric Clapton, Carlos Santana, BB King, Al Di Meola, Popa Chubby, Stanley Jordan, et une dizaine d'autres grands noms de la guitare. En tant que producteur, avec sa société Puzzle Productions créée en 1989, il a vendu plus de 19 millions de disques de multiples artistes français et internationaux, et a produit ou co-produit plus de 1700 albums, singles, compilations et vidéos pour Universal, Sony/BMG, EMI, Warner, M6, etc. Ces productions, reprenant le catalogue de sa société qui comprend 15 000 titres, totalisent 153 disques classés au Top Ifop (Top 50, Top 100), parmi lesquels 66 Top 10 dont dix-sept N°1. Jean-Pierre a reçu à ce jour 121 disques d'or, platine et diamant, parmi lesquels Buddha Bar, Elie Kakou, ou encore des compilations comme Top 50, Ti Amo Italia, Hits & Co, Hit Machine, etc. Jean-Pierre a également produit avec le DJ Da French Guy divers remixes radio de singles d'artistes internationaux comme Madonna, Britney Spears, Daft Punk et Moby, et avec le DJ britannique Joey Negro le single classé dans les charts britanniques et suédois "Alexandrie Alexandra - Remix". Il a acquis ou représente en France et en Europe des enregistrements d'artistes tels que Bob Marley, Jimi Hendrix, James Brown, Kool and the Gang, Compay Segundo, Gloria Gaynor, Luciano Pavarotti, et des centaines d'autres. En octobre 2002, la réédition par Sony d'une partie de son catalogue vaut à Jean-Pierre le titre du producteur ayant classé le plus grand nombre de disques au Top une même semaine, (19 de ses productions). En 2006, il conçoit et produit le dvd Car Academy, une fiction humoristique et déjantée autour de voitures de luxe et de top models, qui reçoit un double disque de diamant pour plus de 200 000 exemplaires vendus. En juillet, Jean-Pierre sort Guitar Connection chez Sony/BMG, un cd+dvd accompagné d'une importante campagne de publicité à la télévision, et dont il est l'interprète et le producteur. L'album comprend 18 titres, et le dvd une méthode de guitare notamment. Guitar Connection est N°1 des ventes en France (du jamais vu pour un disque de guitare instrumentale, français comme international), et ce pendant deux semaines. L'album est aussi certifié disque d'or, vendu à plus de 150 000 exemplaires en France, et se classe dans les charts de plusieurs pays. Guitar Connection 2 est annoncé pour mars 2007. Il contiendra notamment le standard jazzy "Nivram", enregistré en duo avec Hank Marvin, le mythique guitariste des Shadows, et principale influence de Jean-Pierre. Deux autres duos figureront également sur cet album : "My Song of You", avec Laurent Voulzy, et "While my Guitar Gently Weeps", avec Pascal Danel. Jean-Pierre a également publié les livres "Femme Mode d'Emploi" (3 000 citations de 500 auteurs en tous genres sur les femmes) et "Tribute to the Fender Stratocaster", basé sur sa propre collection, qui comporte notamment deux guitares célèbres, "Miss Daisy" et "La Marquise". Il publiera en juin une biographie d'un tout autre genre, "Le Fabuleux Destin de Sacha Guitry". Il est le fils du chanteur Pascal Danel, qui créa dans les années 60 plusieurs standards de la chanson française, dont notamment « Les Neiges du Kilimandjaro » et « La Plage aux Romantiques ». BiographyJean-Pierre Danel (born 1968) is a self-taught guitarist, record producer and composer, Jean-Pierre Danel started his career as a professional guitarist in July 1982, at the age of 14. He was then mainly influenced by the English guitar legends Hank Marvin and The Shadows. After many tours and studio recordings with the biggest names among French session musicians (the ones who play with Céline Dion or Johnny Hallyday), he released various guitar albums, sold by the hundreds of thousands, earning him chart entries and 7 gold discs in Europe. In the US, his album “Stratospheric” received the Award for the Best Album of the Year 2000 from the Instrumental Rock Guitar Hall Of Fame, and Jean-Pierre also received the Award for the Composer of the Year, for his track “Ballad For a Friend”. As a guitarist, the Instrumental Rock Guitar Hall Of Fame described him as "brilliant and expressive". The international musical press was also enthusiastic about this new album. In the US, DWMusic wrote : ”This should be in your collection ! Great arrangements ! Stratospheric will blow you away !" and 2Oth Century Guitar said : ”He’s such a good player !". In the UK, Shadsfax Magazine wrote : "Thumbs up ! This man can really play a guitar, and I mean really… Superb !", Pipeline Magazine : "With such a talented guitarist, the outcome is almost guaranteed to blow you away. ", etc. Reviews were more than excellent as well in France, Spain, Brazil, Japan, Belgium, Holland and Germany. His new album as an artist, Guitar Connection, released by Sony/BMG in july is a huge hit, and the only instrumental guitar album to reach the N°1 spot in the charts in France (also a N°3 in Belgium), staying there for two weeks, and receiving also a gold disc (more than 150 000 copies sold). Guitar Connection 2 is released in March 2007, and features a duet with British legend Hank Marvin, on the Shadows' jazzy standard "Nivram", and two others duets with French stars Laurent Voulzy and Pascal Danel. Jean-Pierre also wrote the books "Femme mode d’Emploi" (quotations about women), and "Tribute to the Fender Stratocaster", based on his guitar collection, which includes the famous models "Miss Daisy" and "La Marquise". He will publish another book next June, a biography on French playwritter, director and actor Sacha Guitry.
