Britrock
All good things come in threes, so they say. This is true indeed for Amplifier, a trio in the fine tradition of rock Supertrio’s. This band – whose name is as obvious as it is great – need no more to lay down a sound that’ll shut you up for a bit. Amplifier has its sensitive subtle moments too though. Imagine a jam session with Led Zeppelin and Massive Attack, in a remix by Mogwai. On CD they’re impressive, but live their waves of imposing guitar chords, compelling tempo and heartbreaking vocals will have a merciless impact.
