'Alarum' History:

Alarum was formed in 1992 by drummer Matt Racovalis and joined soon after by guitarist Mark Evans. The early lineup also included Lester Perry/bass & Luke Morris / vocals. Originally more in the Death metal style, they gigged in Melbourne , released the " Another World " demo 1994, and later recorded a track for DEF Records' "Death Down Under" compilation CD in 1995. In late 1995 Scott Young (Guitar) and Mark Palfreyman (Bass) joined the band forming the lineup that is today and released a demo Blueprint' in 1996 in preparation to record the bands debut album. New material was written, incorporating fresher influences and in late 1997 the Alarum CD " Fluid Motion " was recorded. 8 tracks of death/thrash/jazz-metal. Fluid Motion was self-released in mid 1999 and touring of Australia followed the release of the CD. A video clip for Realization was aired on Rage & Channel V and the track was also included on JJJ's Full Metal Racket compilation CD. Eventuality is the second Alarum release, a more developed album that is an expansion on the progressive/death/thrash/jazz metal sound. Recorded throughout 2003-2004 by Theron Rennison & Rick Luke at Back Beach Studio, Rye , it was self released in Australia Nov 2004 through MGM , in the US by Willowtip Records Nov 2004 & in Europe July 2005 by Earache Records / Willowtip. Response worldwide has been positive and the band are currently busy writing the third album as they continue to push the boundaries of metal/jazz/rock with their progressive approach. Already having toured Australia many times and playing at festivals such as Metal For The Brain, Overcranked & Chaos In Croydon, the band are now preparing to take their music to audiences in US/Canada/UK/Europe & Japan in 2006.
